"I remember being proud of Jon. We'd push him in a stroller and people would stare because he was funny looking. I understood because I was scared of him at first. Charlton, Jenny and I wanted to show him off because he was so lovable and so loving.
If there was a time that I was upset or worried about something, somehow Jon would know it. He would grab me with that "Jon" hug and rub his face in my hair and somehow everything was all better.
Jon has affected me in a lot of ways. He taught me to value difference, that's a gift I'll always be grateful for. He taught me compassion. Jon has made me a better person. I would have been much more concerned with what people think of me fitting into the right place. Jon forces you to get out of what's comfortable for you and somehow reminds you of what's important."
